"Police Teeth" out TOMORROW

Hey all.

As you might know, our fourth album will be officially released tomorrow, 10/16.  It's self-titled, and it's out on the great Latest Flame records.  You can buy it directly from Dan at Latest Flame or from us at our Bandcamp.

We started tracking basics for our fourth LP last weekend with Jackson Justice Long at the new space for his studio space Hear Me Shimmer in SoDo. We also tracked basics for our contribution to Q6 of the PRF Singles Comp and our part of the La Sexorcistobros split with Waxeater. Here are some photos:

Update from PT

Hey everyone, heavy news from the PT camp: Police Teeth and Adam Grunke have parted ways. He's a great friend and a real trooper -- we wish him the best of luck with what he does next and whole-heartedly thank him for the last 3.5 years of camaraderie. Despite this sad news, the three of us are excited about the future of Police Teeth and plan on continuing as a trio (the way this whole steamroller started, yo). Expect more shows later this fall and a new album sometime next year.

It's been a little bit quiet in the Police Teeth camp for the last little bit. Did you miss us? No? Okay, then.

So the last time you heard from us, we were perhaps on our way home from Chicago where we had a blast at the PRF BBQ. Or maybe you saw us at the Capitol Hill Block Party. Weren't those things fun?

So just to fill you in on what's going on, this weekend we'll be doing our final rehearsals (fancy word for "practice") before we go into the studio to record our third album.

The working title is "Awesomer Than The Devil," and we'll be recording and mixing over a few weekends in August and September with Dan Mohr at Mysterious Red X Studios (Where those Band Of Horses and Fleet Foxes records you read about on Pitchfork were made) in Georgetown. Some of you may know Dan as the drummer of The Bismarck, whom we've been very good friends with since our second show. We've always liked the sounds that Dan have gotten on The Bismarck's records, and we're really excited to work with someone from the family this time out.

Speaking of family, we're also excited to say that we are joining the family of Milwaukee/Chicago-based Latest Flame Records, who will be releasing "Awesomer" in early 2011. LFR's roster also includes our good friends IfIHadAHiFi and Waxeater and after meeting with LFR owner Dan Hanke last month in Chicago, we knew we wanted to join his team. While "small band signs to small label," might not be news to some of you, for a very close-knit-bordering-on-insular group like us who are used to doing everything ourselves, it's kind of thrilling to work with someone who "gets" us.

Seeing that we're now honorary Midwesterners, you can expect a Midwest tour from us, most likely in the spring. Probably a West Coast thing, too.

Police Teeth's Ride Over Nordland -- SF in December, 2009!

Dude, we're huge in the Bay Area. For serious. When we finally get around to recording our live album (working titles: "Live at Dudokan," "Unleashed in the Least," "Inferior Versions of Songs You Already Own," "Plays to an Audience!"), it will likely be taped at thee Parkside, the Hemlock, the Elbo Room, or the fabulous Pittsburgh's Pub down the street from Richard Necklace's swank pad by the ocean.

We love the Bay Area.

So when our buddy Conan Neutron (of Replicator / Mount Vicious infamy) asked us to come down and play his birthday show, we were on it like a pitbull on a mailman's leg.

And since we're lugging our wares ("wares" here is a euphemism for "asses," dig) all the way from the dank wilds of the Northwest, we opted to rustle up a second show with some of our favorite bands to round out the weekend.

Here are the details:

* Saturday, December 5 -- Conan's Birthday Party, with Police Teeth, the Turks, Hurry Up Shotgun, and a killer guest @ the Lobot Gallery (West Oakland -- www.lobotgallery.com).

* Sunday, December 6 -- Generalissimo, Police Teeth, and Truxton @ Kimo's (SF -- www.kimosbarsf.com).

We'll all be in town by Friday evening, so try to hunt us down that night for a ration of hijinx (last trip to SF saw us running around the streets in various stages of undress, eating your pizza, drinking your beer, hondo-ing at your neighbors, and generally being mild nuisances to the arbiters of good taste).
